Judging myself. There are seven and a half billion people on this planet, some of them even hang around AnswerMug hoping to enhance their chance of finding a likely candidate, but every one of them up for judging me for something or other . . . so I don't need me adding to the discomfiture of it all.

  • If you're the goat-loving photographer I remember from a year ago,
then I have no negative judgments about you,
    only positive ones.

Judging ourselves harshly is a hard way to live.
My husband does it and I see a lot of how he suffers from it.
    Hugs to you dear one.

  • Makes sense :) I used to worry about others judging me too, then I realized most people are too busy worrying about themselves to really give a crap what foolishness I'm up to:) it's a sad and happy day when you realize the world doesn't revolve around you ;)

  • Yeah, and the overthinking usually  starts around time to go to sleep :/ at least for me, anyway.

Stopping. If I could just stop stopping, then I could stop stopping from stopping me from stopping. I try and try, but I just can't seem to stop. Well, to tell the truth, I do stop stopping every now and then, but right in the middle of it, I stop, and it's much harder to start stopping to stop again once you've already stop stopping in the first place. It all makes me truly regret that I even started stopping in the first place, because simple logic tells you that if you don't start stopping, you'll never need to stop it.
Some people stop easily, some need help, and others never stop. I'm no quitter, so I insist on starting to stop stopping as soon as I can get a head-start on stopping to start stopping to stop at the very beginning whenever I catch myself stopping to start a stop of the stopping episode.
They tell me there are stop-gap measures, but if I still can't stop there, it starts a whole new set of problems. Stoppage shouldn't be taken lightly, because if one stops believing in the power of stopping, it can signal a stop in the stop stopping process.
You want me to stop, don't you?  (Okay, already!  Stop beating me over the head, I'm trying my best to stop!  I'll stop, I'll stop!)

A very eloquent and thought-provoking piece.. but shouldn't, 'once you've already stop stopping' be, once you've already stopped stopping? Just trying to show that I did read what you wrote :)

Lol, you're absolutely right; I found two or three typos in it myself right after posting it, but I have an aversion to hitting the 'Edit' button.  I usually rewrite completely when I find I've erred, but this one was so involved that I thought I'd just let it go.

I gotta stop feeding my neighbor's cat. I was giving him treats for a long time then she asked me to stop because he is getting too fat -but he still comes over and pleads for a treat and I can't resist. She's caught me a few times sneaking him a little treat and ibeen getting very angry.
