Last summer. We have shuttle buses to and from our baseball stadium. Parking downtown is near impossible. Our nearest shuttle is 2 minutes from home. This post was edited by Element 99 at May 30, 2018 8:19 AM MDT

Wait, why does that sound so dirty, and what does it really mean?

Did you drive a bus? Excellent!
I am amazed at anyone who can drive large vehicles -- I barely can parallel park a car.

I used to drive the day care minibus, until I hit the big 7 0.

This was not the longest bus in the fleet, it was only 45 feet. There was another model that had a third axle in the back, and a hinge between the sections. I drove this bus through the tightest sections of the ASU campus. One corner was so tight that the entire front of the bus had to go over the curb while the rear wheels were just missing the opposite curb. (The front of the bus was specifically designed to fit over curbs.) I quit that job because I got tired of bosses threatening to fire me every day. I drove limos for a while. After that I drove shuttle buses for hotels.

We also had one like this. Notice the long overhang in the back. That's where the engine is. Any little bump and the engine would swing the entire bus this way or that. It was quite a struggle to keep it between the curbs. We called it "the jackalope". The gas pump had a low hill going up to it and every one of this model would get the front wheels off the ground, no matter how careful the driver was trying to be.

Thanks for more again! I could not have driven either of those vehicles. (Unless forced to with lots of help)

    :)

  • A few days ago. My town has a student-run bus system. This might be one of the last times I ride it, though, since I'm moving to the Bay Area at the end of June and I'll probably be driving more there.

I can finally say with total joy, that I cannot remember.

When I lived in Florida I had no car.  I had to rely on spending what amounted to another part-time job worth of time just to take buses to and from work.  That is when the bus actually went near my destination.  When it didn't, it took longer.

I never want to deal with buses again ever.  Some people cannot live without a manicure or pedicure.  I cannot live without my car and house.  I will never ever rent again and I will never ever take a godda*& bus to get around.

I think I rode one about 20 years ago to go on some boring vacation with my mom to Mexico.  That was bad enough. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at May 31, 2018 5:27 AM MDT

With a free bus pass, it's cheaper and less hassle than finding and paying for parking in the city. Maybe a couple of months back. Don't go often.

Just got off one. I'm on my way to work. Parking in the city is expensive.
