33-year-old Dorleans Philidor briefly halted courtroom proceedings related to charges of burglary in Miami-Dade County on Friday after he threw feces at the judge and told her she should eat it because feces contains protein and "good for you." Philidor was later acquitted of the burglary charges by a jury, but he will remain in jail to face a separate charge of grand theft auto.
A Florida man's courtroom antics didn't seem to deter a jury who later cleared him of burglary charges.
The trial for 33-year-old Dorleans Philidor was delayed on Friday morning after Philidor defecated on himself in the courtroom and proceeded to throw his feces towards Miami-Dade Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lisa Walsh, theMiami Herald said.
The excrement did not reach Walsh, but the move sent lawyers scattering out of Philidor's reach as law enforcement me... less

News 9 Hours AgoNewser — John Johnson
It sounds like a crazy tabloid headline—humans are growing little horns in the back of their skulls. Except it comes not from a tabloid but a peer-reviewed study in Scientific Reports.
Australian researchers say more people, young ones especially, are showing up with what's known as an "enlarged external occipital protuberance" on the back of their skulls, just above the neck, reports the Washington Post.
The leading theory is that these spikes are caused by all the time people spend hunched over their phones. It's throwing the body out of whack, resulting in the formation of what's been variously described in coverage as bone spurs, phone bones, a bird's beak, and head horns.
(The study itself includes an X-ray photo.) If you have one, you'd likely be able to feel it with your fingers, notes the BBC.
It might even be visible as a little bump if you're bald. "... less
US President Donald Trump arrives to speak during a rally at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida to officially launch his 2020 campaign on June 18, 2019.
President Donald Trump officially opened his 2020 campaign Tuesday with a speech exaggerating what he’s done for the economy and against illegal immigration.
Some claims from his rally in Orlando, Florida:
ABORTION
TRUMP: “Leading Democrats have even opposed measures to prevent the execution of children after birth.”
THE FACTS: Executing children is already a crime.
Trump is offering here a somewhat toned down version of a distorted story he’s been telling for months that falsely suggests Democrats are OK with murder.
His account arises from extremely rare instances when babies are born alive as a result of an attempted abortion. When these cases occur, “execution” is not an ... less

Credit cards can be wonderful tools if you know how to use them to your advantage. For example, you should use them in a way that helps boost your credit scores—which will, in turn, help you qualify for the best cards with the best perks and rewards.
One key thing to keep in mind while using your credit cards is to make sure you're not using too much of your own credit. If you do, you'll end up with a higher credit utilization ratio, which can pull your credit scores down.
In general, the less of your available credit you're using, the better: Aim to use no more than 30% of the credit available to you. For the best credit scores, keep it under 10%, but above zero.
How Do I Calculate My Credit Utilization Ratio?
Your credit utilization ratio is calculated by adding all your credit card balances at any given time and dividing that by your total credit limit. For example, if you typically charge about $2,000 each month... less

U.S. President Donald Trump speaks about expanding healthcare coverage for small businesses in the Rose Garden of the White House on June 14, 2019 in Washington, DC.
An eye toward his 2020 campaign, President Donald Trump is turning to a familiar playbook of exaggerated boasts about economic performance and overdrawn complaints about a race tilted against him.
He insisted the Electoral College gives Democrats a “big advantage” in U.S. presidential elections, making it difficult for Republicans like himself to win. That’s wrong. Though in 2016 he often described the election as “rigged” against him, Trump, in fact, wouldn’t have won the presidency without the Electoral College system in which the votes of smaller rural states that tend to vote Republican are weighted more heavily than big, Democratic-leaning states like New York and California.

President Donald Trump reacts to having the song Happy Birthday sung to him before speaking about expanding healthcare coverage for small businesses in the Rose Garden of the White House on June 14 in Washington, D.C.
President Donald Trump insisted that Article II of the U.S. Constitution "allows" him to do "whatever" he wants, arguing that he never planned to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller but had every legal right to do so.
The president made the remarks during an exclusive interview with ABC News' host George Stephanopoulos, part of which was released last week and another part of which was released ahead of its airing on Sunday.
Stephanopoulos pressed Trump on specific allegations of obstruction of justice, as many legal experts have defined them, laid out in the second portion of Mueller's report. One of the primary examples that critics of the president often... less
A young woman sips bubble tea outside a bubble tea cafe on August 22, 2012 in Berlin, Germany. Bubble tea, which fuses Asian tea with milk or fruit syrups and sometimes contains balls of tapioca, originated in Taiwan and has most recently spread in popularity to North America and Europe.
A teenage girl in China was hospitalized after she drank too much bubble tea.
The unnamed 14-year-old was suffering from stomach pain, and had been constipated for five days, Nine.com.au reported citing Chinese news website The Paper.
Her parents took her to the emergency room at Zhuji People's Hospital, in Zhejiang province, eastern China, on May 28.
To uncover the cause of the girl's pain, doctors carried out a CT scan. The images of the patient's insides revealed there were over 100 blobs in her digestive system.
The teenager told doctors she ... less

Tofu, also called bean curd, has gained popularity over the years especially as a vegetarian- and vegan-approved source of protein. It seems to have a healthy reputation with consumers, but what is tofu exactly? The truth is tofu is made from soy, and the majority of the time soy is bad for you.

This undated photo provided by the National Institutes of Health in June 2019 shows an "ultra-processed" lunch including brand name macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders, canned green beans and diet lemonade. Researchers found people ate an average of 500 extra calories a day when fed mostly processed foods, compared with when the same people were fed minimally processed foods. That’s even though researchers tried to match the meals for nutrients like fat, fiber and sugar.
NEW YORK (AP) — Chips, soda and frozen pizzas tend to be full of salt, sugar and fat, but now scientists are trying to understand if there's something else about such processed... less

U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a rally at the El Paso County Coliseum on February 11, 2019 in El Paso, Texas.
President Trump’s campaign rallies are racking up big bills, and he’s reportedly not paying them.
A new investigation from NBC News and the Center for Public Integrity found the Trump campaign owes city governments across the country upwards of $800,000 for police and public safety costs from his events.
The largest invoice to date comes from El Paso, Texas, where the president held a campaign rally in February. Trump still owes the city $470,417 for the event, the invoice shows.
Some invoices date back to 2016, before Trump was elected president. His 2016 campaign skipped out on municipal public safety bills from Green Bayand Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Tucson, Arizona; Burlington, Vermont and Spokan... less
