A broke down bubble machine can be a social disaster for a kid because kids will start telling other kids the the party sucked because of a lack of bubbles then nobody will show up for the next party. So I take my bubble machine duty very serious even if it means not getting a corner piece of cake - when you are in charge of the bubble machine you can't leave your post so that you can be first in line when it is cake cutting time.
