There was something offputting about her personality. Setting everything else aside(which of course we can't) being very likable goes a long way to being accepted/defended/supported. Maybe it's the grease that makes the parts operate smoothly. I think her book outlining every cause of her defeat wasn't a gracious thing for her to do. I think she could have written a positive memoir about her life and political experiences without going to the dark side and whining and rehashing and regurgitating. It would have left better tracks. Of course she had a right to write whatever she wanted to write. It's just kinda disappointing that it wasn't more gracious, graceful, upbeat. Just my opinion. Yours? less

I was in lower/midtown Manhattan on my way to a meeting. Needless to say, the meeting was cancelled. We were all trapped. No cell phones, no telephones, no trains. When we went outside, soot was falling from the sky onto our heads. Traffic was at a standstill. Cars trying to get out of town were gridlocked. The sidewalks were packed with people all headed northbound, all intent on getting out. I walked into the middle of 3rd Avenue and looked southbound down the street. I could see smoke billowing up into the sky where I knew the Trade Center buildings were. I had friends and neighbors who worked there. And, I was dealing with a personal issue. I didn't want to go to that meeting in the first place because my husband was at home deteriorating from Pancreatic cancer. So, I was pretty much trying not to panic. &nbs... less

The DoDo Bird IS extinct but it far better represents the America of today, 2017, all things considered. Doesn't it? The DoDo Bird is a clumsy flightless extinct bird. When you call a human a DoDo Bird the dictionary says the following: "A dull-witted, slow-reacting person with old-fashioned conservative or outmoded ideas. A thing that is outmoded or obsolete".
