What is your preferred choice of self-defense?

My first thought -- I'll go with it --

    For what it's worth, for non-physical self-defense -- silence.

I tend to just breathe and listen/watch. I tend not to react immediately in emotion. (I'm really surprised, actually, to admit this -- because I'm an awfully emotional person. But when it comes down to it, whether it's healthy or unhealthy, I do not respond immediately and reactively -- even when, often, others say I should/should have jumped all over the other person's/persons' shi*.)

    :)

Wasp spray. I have a variety of self-defense mechanisms handy but, I'm not willing to use any of them other than Wasp spray.

When out riding my bicycle over my favorite 6 mile course, I encounter an occasional angry dog. I have used mace, but it isn't really good unless the animal is very close to biting me. Now I carry a nice big can of wasp and hornet spray that can reach 15-20 feet. That way I can discourage most animals from a  distance. (in my area, it is illegal to allow a dog to run loose)  I have not yet met up with any mean dogs since I bought the spray, but there will be a day--------------

A baseball bat that has a craft glitter coating and cartoon stickers. I sand the clear coat off my baseball bats then I coat them with white glue and well the glue is still wet I coat it with craft glitter. After it dries a put stickers on it like stars and Goofy. A glitter coated baseball bat is more effective than a regular bat because when you smack a intruder with it some of the glitter gets in their eyes and they get eye irritation as well as a few lumps. The stickers are mostly for show but you can let an intruder know that  you will beat them till their goofy and they will be seeing stars when you get done with them. Cheers and happy weekend!

It's uncanny how often we are alike in our thinking. I went to type this and thought better of it, but it definitely works no one likes to be engulfed in bad wind and it confuses people.

Asker's.  However... how long must you hold this weapon.  That could get very uncomfortable if no one bugs you all week.

The most reliable defense is to be someplace else when a situation develops.

I would quickly put on my thick nerdy glasses then pull out my bible and open it up.

No one would hit a good Christian guy reading his bible I am sure.

Probably because Christians are the most deadly tribe on the planet.  They kill more people in the name of JAYSUS than the rest combined.
