It's not fun but it is necessary and I really must get as much of the research I've done over the last 5 weeks written up. I have this week off as it's half-term here and as I work full-time have a very demanding daughter with disabilities, do the course and have many pets as well as a house to run - half term is vital. After half-term we get into adding and editing - always a long process for me and the pressure becomes more and more intense until the assignment is done. I promise I will be back - I will miss you all and will think of you, composing questions in my head to ask you - but I will not be able to ask them :(Behave yourselves while I am away and I will catch you on the flipside of the assignment. xx less

One of Orwell’s most important messages in 1984 is that language is of central importance to human thought because it structures and limits the ideas
The aim of manipulative language, whether used consciously or unconsciously is often to narrow the range of thought – to control it in some way. In other words the language that is used and how it is used, undeniably has an impact, or seeks to have an impact on the thoughts of the recipient.
Manipulative language is a form of coercion. Definition: noun Definition: compulsion, pressure: browbeating, bullying, constraint, duress, force, intimidation, menace, menacing, persuasion, strong-arm tactic, threat, threatening,

The region was already teetering on the edge, but recent events have only made things worse. And while the mayhem should be apparent to any casual observer, what’s less obvious is Jared Kushner’s role in the chaos.AdvertisementKushner is, of course, the US president’s senior advisor and son-in-law. The 36-year-old is a Harvard graduate who seems to have a hard time filling in forms correctly. He repeatedly failed to mention his meetings with foreign officials on his security clearance and neglected to report to US government officials that he was co-director of a foundation that raised money for Israeli settlements, considered ille... less

A gigantic asteroid which is larger than the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, will hurtle past our planet in around two weeks time. The 2002 AJ129 asteroid has been classed a 'potentially hazardous' by Nasa and will fly past at speeds of 67,000mph.But it clearly portends what may be awaiting our planet somewhere down the road doesn't it? Tell me again about 'the rapture'.
