They want to introduce it cos, like America we are seeing more and more troubled teens, self-harm, depression and anxiety.. The thinking is that we should pay attention to the wellbeing of children just as much as their academic attainments... So good idea? What do you think? Or is it just another waste of money new-fad?PS this is only a semi-experiment cos it discusses US items. less

I was in the cafeteria yesterday, and as I was wolfing down my lunch I was watching the other people eat with pure hatred. Stabbing their forks at one vegetable. The despair was so unbearable, I could feel my anxiety going thru the roof. I wanted to get up so badly and give them all a back-handed-slap. LET'S GO CHAMP!!

University of Maryland sociologist Arie Kruglanski says that many liberals are demonizing Trump supporters at the moment because of a need for this kind of closure. Sounds a lot like what's happening right here on AM, doesn't it?

This can start in childhood with overly critical parents or peers... They avoid doing or saying things that might cause them to be rejected... and eventually they are no longer able to trust their own instincts or consider their own needs..Interesting and fascinating to me as always human nature.. I never tire of learning about people and how they work... But let it be said, it's probably clear that I wont be one who behaves in ways to gain approval.. doesn't matter to me if I am not popular. I don't seek popularity.. indeed it's arguably as I mentioned above it can be considered an issue we should address, as always pleasing others can lead to us losing ourselves.. I am perhaps feeling cynical today... or slightly so.. after a suggestion or two lately that ... less

That's people for ya - we are all complex, complicated and driven by our moods, experiences and perceptions...few of us are 100% consistent if we are honest with ourselves...And I don't think inane is an insult either - it's just a description according to one's perception.. for instance.. if someone said to me.. your questions or comments are inane.. I wouldn't care... cos if truth be told we are ALL sometimes capable of posting something inane - and I know for sure I have and do, and probably will continue to do so :P less

Is that why they say laughter is like medicine? Because crying just makes you feel sick?

But be on guard for Refugees who flee for their lives/Immigrants/Muslims/Potential Terrorists from countries whose people HAVE NEVER HARMED US. Be very afraid. Stay terrified. They are the bad guys. Putin? He's a pussycat/teddy bear/honey bunch. What's to fear from him. Right? Trump knows these things. He wouldn't lie to us. Would he?
