My Cornish great-grandfather was a captain in the mines and my Slovenian great-grandparents were storekeepers. The immigrants faced hard work, poor living conditions, dangerous work, and discrimination. But 100 years later all these immigrants have assimilated and helped this county to thrive. https://www.mnopedia.org/immigration-iron-range-1880-1930

For example, did you have to put a certain percentage or a particular dollar amount into savings or a college fund, did you have to give some or all of your salary to your parent(s) to help out the family budget, were you allowed to spend your money however you wanted to, did you have to pay for your own share of the car insurance, etc.?
This question is in regards to any type of job you worked other than at home where you received pay (no volunteerism), and any age you were at the time.~ less

She won't be able to do much but it is better to not be able to much at home then in a hospital. There will be a health care worker coming over every day so that will be helpful. We will have to put her in a palliative care home sometime down the road but it will be a lot closer then the hospital and our son works at that care home so he will take special care of her. Cheers!

One Friday she asked me what I was doing for the weekend and I told her I would probably be parting at the Seminal House (a dive bar). She showed up at that bar on Saturday - sat down with me and bought us 2 draft beers each. When she excused her self to go to the washroom I watched her walk away and I thought hubba hubba because it was the first time I saw her not wearing a baggy fitting K-Mart uniform. Then my attention turned to her draft beers and I took a couple of gulps out of each of her glasses. When she got back to the table she pretended not to notice that I had drunk some of her beer and I thought hey this could be the start of a beautiful friendship. Cheers! (should add that my wife is still in the hospital and I am still hoping she will make a miraculous recovery and come home to me) less

Our Grandson just won first place in a sandcastle competition and part of the reason he won was because he dug a pretty impressive molt around the castle. So maybe he inherited the hoe gene from me. Cheers!

In my case, I think my grandmother on my mother’s side, but with her, it was more the way she told stories and imitated people’s voices and mannerisms that made everything so funny. She could be quite dramatic about it sometimes.
