The various individuals on a shift and at a certain position are responsible for the assigned chores. The employee is to sign off on having done them, the supervisor is to countersign. One of the chores is cleaning the floor and walls around the soft serve frozen yogurt machine. I have noticed it probably has not been done in months. I'm never on the shift assigned to it but I do have shifts with open time where I could take it upon myself to do it. Being it is assigned elsewhere am I justified in saying, "Oh well, this is not my responsibility."?Note - The yogurt machine is enclosed by a counter. The nasty state of the floor and wall is not immediately noticeable. less

She told me I'd have a certain number of hours but has still been giving me low ones lately, and this is my lifeline...I've read and heard from other nannies that if they are canceled by their parent/boss, they receive half or full pay ... she has now canceled twice on me in two weeks with no talk of anything. Would you ask, could you do partial payment? I was already receiving lower hours now, despite her telling me a different thing , and while I don't want to appear pushy, I've let stepped over boundaries go before. I have heard if it was a one time sitting shift, then no pay for a cancel, but if the person is with the family on a regular basis she should be paid at least partial for that day ... would you just let it go (once again) or say anything? *I'm already searching other avenues /family as well* less

It occurred to me that she has very rarely been the one to be in the house when someone is present to do some work. In fact, she prefers that I be the one. The technician or provider may not know if a man or a woman will be waiting, which prompted my curiosity in posting this. Thank you in advance for your answer. ~ less
