I have just begun John Cleland's Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure (also known as Fanny Hill) published in the 18th century, and am enjoying it immensely.

I feel more comfortable hearing about current events on Gujarati televisi... moreAlthough I read books in English, I prefer to read newspapers and magazines in my mother tongue, Gujarati. I feel more comfortable hearing about current events on Gujarati television and radio channels, and always write to my family and friends in Gujarati. Except, of course, when I send emails, because typing on a Gujarati keyboard is for me a very slow and laborious exercise.

I love to read but need to feel it's worth my while as I... moreI downloaded an audio book that I know I would never pick up and read if it were a book.. I wondered about the difference.. I love to read but need to feel it's worth my while as I get so little reading time... I also like listening to books and have very fond memories of when my kids were little and I'd listen to books while doing housework and chores.. But these days again with so little time I find I sit down to listen and fall asleep.. I miss large chunks of the story as I am often multi tasking.. so I think it has to be something I don't have to pay too much attention to... less

I remember his teacher who was fond of him and encouraged him and inspired him to read Harry Potter, which had only just come out, (as the book). So that was the first time I saw him read something for himself and love it..
