She has not brought up anything to me about staying (I care for her toddler, two year old).... either with the new baby or toddler. I emailed her 5 days ago about if/when she is returning to work, and what my hours might be and still has not returned message. Would it be reasonable to want to know your rough hours for June/Summer? I doubt myself a lot, but I do need to see if I need to apply to other places or not... it seems like she does not want to approach the subject, but I figured Id email her first.. should I send second email or just try in person soon ? less

Just recently (we also use facebook sometimes to communicate) I sent a FB message thanking her for something, and showing interest in her new pics, but she did not reply/ignored. Last night I sent an email apologizing about something I said to the 2 year old that completely was jumbled and wanted her to know (instead of saying 'thank you ' to him/her as I left recently, I said 'say thank you' .. to him.) She did not reply at all this morning or evening. Now it could be that she's busy as she has a new baby, but both messages now ignored leave me feeling low.. I care for her child in every way and teach him, show respect to her, etc. I just let things like this go, but I wonder about what she cares or if she cares how I am perceiving this too- would you say anything? I wouldn't even if someone here says to, lol, I am too shy, but I j... less

I have tried everything to get a job but nothing works. I can get foodstamps and medicaid but no cash but you cant buy toilet paper with foodstamps, Ive tried school but i think i have a learning disability and i end up with d's which puts me on probation and i got a d again so now i cant even do that. I cant get ssi, already tried, I thought about trying it with stuff like learning disabilities and see what happens since they wont help with the physical issues. I have hud which helps but i cant create my own job which wouldve solved all this. i cant even sell avon, thought of donating plasma since where i live they pay for it but dont know if they will take it cause one time when i tried it they couldnt find a vein. I cant even so much as find a babysitting job, not even walking dogs. its like nothing works. i t... less

She is not 'my ' friend, but is my aunt's friends' daughter. She pays me less than I'd typically get for when i have all her children together (5 kids) but I haven't said anything b/c I wanted to give a 'deal' of sorts, but I am shy in general, and people have said to put your 'business' hat on when it comes to that. She wants me to work only 2 hours soon, but I typically need 3 or 4 for minimum for a shift, as I live a half hour away. How do I ask her for more hours w/out seeming pushy? (for a minimum 3 or 4 hour) less

I am interested in a position that dseems to fit well for hours I'm searching , and perhaps pay, but the parents are already asking that the nanny do other things that are not 'expected' of her...during naps. In previous positions, this is the most down time a nanny would have in a day- a 10 hour day. Folding laundry is definitely something I've always open to or putting away dishes, but as far as other tasks around the house, I'm not sure it is really included in the pay (it is not) and I'm there for the CHILD, not to be a housekeeper when they nap..I used to be an assistant teacher so I'm great at including one on one educational activites /abc's/music/reading during the day... and while I don't mind some laundry here or there, I just don't know how to approach this 'do more during her nap time' philosophy - how do you go about saying this to a parent? less
