What other profession is so replete with detritus? What other profession has so many members working against the best interests of the people they are allegedly supposed to serve? In what other profession can people get away with breaking the law, attacking/crushing/annihilating precedent/protocol/tradition and flaunting it? Rubbing our faces in it? My parents and grandparents came to this country for the better lives they thought they'd find here.  They became naturalized citizens and were very proud of their country.  Being a citizen meant a lot to them. It means a lot to me. Does it mean a lot to every citizen? I don't know. I cannot speak for them but it doesn't seem so. Those who join in subverting our institutions certainly are not good citizens. They are opportunists who are out for themselves. Screw the country!  Screw its laws. Screw the Constitution. Screw anyone who gets in the way!  All that matters is  WINNING and it doesn't matter how. Shameful.  less

I recognised myself so clearly upto about my present age, but what I saw what I might look like in my 60s,70s and 80s positively terrified me. At each age I felt I was being pressed down by what or whom I don't know, and I kept calling out to my mother I don't know for what; but I woke up sweating profusely, my nightie drenched, and the words "Ma, be with me, be with me, be with me." on my lips. It took me a few seconds to persuade myself that it was only a dream and calm down. I hope I never have such a dream again.  less

We labour most of our lives to pay for gas, electric, water, mortgage, children, babies nappies, car insurance, road tax, speeding fines, parking fines, we are watched by CCTV 24/7, and then we die, never questioning the system, whilst the elite inherit land, go on expensive holidays, own expensive cars, take part in expensive sports, and live the life of luxury off us.  What makes them entitled to ownership over us?  less
