Harry, you described a shocking experience. No wonder you took a while to recover.
I wrote down my experience, so I would never forget. I was in France, on a golf course. When I got back home in the afternoon, I found my wife and a friend, two happy women who were always laughing and chatting but this time they were unusually silent. They were just sitting motionless in front of the TV, simply staring and my first thought was, ‘they are watching a horror, a disaster film’.
They told me that this was all real, live TV and that one tower had already collapsed. I just went numb. The only other time in my life that I had a similar feeling was when I was in my office, the phone rang, and someone told me that my father had just died. He was only 52 years old.
Anyway, as I was watching those chaotic images in horror, the smoke, dust, people covered in dust and soot running, sirens blaring everywhere, the scene became surreal especially when the moment came which I can only describe as a nightmare; a hauntin...    less

I understand why you find it tedious to hear people complain about your president, especially if it is such a relentless attack. Still, “it’s a free country”, is it not?
Call it whining or griping and your annoyance is self-evident however, if we demand respect for our opinions, we really ought to return the compliment.
Let me ask you a question. Is the POTUS behaving like a competent leader? If your answer were to be ‘Yes, he is a competent leader’, then our discussion would be over.
As for foreign leaders’ opinions about the POTUS, I see, read, and I hear the news from around the world. Over the last six months, clear signs of contempt directed at Trump have emerged from many countries as well as from their leaders, even from those he hasn’t insulted … yet … , so I feel vindicated in asking my earlier question.

There are two noteworthy points about your reply.
The first is unimportant, yet it’s worth the mention that my post was a question, it was not a statement.
Much more significant however is that, you are either inadvertently attempting to change the meaning of your post, or via equivocation, you deliberately substituted the meaning of a given word in one context for another context that is inappropriate in order to make your argument.
    Allow me to explain.
I know, you never said “most of” and I agree that you mentioned “some”.
However, your post is unmistakable and it clearly says QUOTE “Some of the supposed "chaos" is actually just a lot of whining from sore losers.” UNQUOTE
“Some” in your sentence clearly refers to chaos!
The rest of that sentence “…is actually just a lot of whining from sore losers.”
You are not limiting “the sore losers” in any way.
I think I am perfectly accurate about what you wrote, or do you disagree?  less

You state: “Are we looking perhaps to a population recession? Do governments know we are in for a population reduction?” My answer was clear but re-phrasing it, it sounds like this.
No, we are not looking at a population recession and, no, governments do not know that we are in for a population reduction because there is no reduction expected in several decades to come.

Your recent comment includes “…we have invention sometimes without purpose and even destructive invention.”
“Sometimes” indeed, but many more times inventions come about because someone has an idea of what is needed, why is it required i.e. “why it should be built”, how it will work and how it can be realised or created.
As for infrastructure, engineers would laugh at the suggestion that the “HOW is critical when the WHY is nice”. They understand exactly all the “hows” and the "whys" when they design a particular structure especially conceived to withstand hurricanes or earthquakes.

Seriously though, this is an interesting question.
Some people might approve of the idea of not worrying why something should be built if they didn’t know how to build it. They could claim it would make the world a better place.
How so? Here’s why … or should I say how?
Suppose humanity always embraced the philosophy of not caring WHY something should be built, simply because they didn’t know HOW to make it. Surely, the consequence would be that humans would still be living in caves and swinging through the trees.
Would it come as a surprise if some would think that was a good thing? I don't think so! In their opinion, there would be no overpopulation of our planet, no cars, no pollution, no billionaires, no nuclear warheads, etc etc.

    70 = soixante-dix = sixty ten .... 80 = quatre-vingt = four twenty .... 90 = quatre-vingt-dix
However, that only applies to French spoken in France!
The French speaking Belgians and Swiss have words for those numbers although they don't both use all and the same, just to keep everyone on their toes, I guess i.e. septante, octante or huitante and nonante.  less
