I kinda thought it was a bit inappropriate for the locale (local grocery store and Wally world and another public retail store) and when another individual echoed my thoughts and asked me to carry them to the artists...I hesitated. After a lot of thought I asked what I had believed to be a good friend if she could be persuaded to reexamine the work with an eye towards it being pretty insensitive. I got put on blast and virtually hung up on.
If someone approaches you and gives a cogent, thought out critique delivered without hostility or aggression...what would your response be to a good friend? If the idea couldn't be discussed rationally with a friend....what about someone who is offended badly and approaches them in public?

That's people for ya - we are all complex, complicated and driven by our moods, experiences and perceptions...few of us are 100% consistent if we are honest with ourselves...And I don't think inane is an insult either - it's just a description according to one's perception.. for instance.. if someone said to me.. your questions or comments are inane.. I wouldn't care... cos if truth be told we are ALL sometimes capable of posting something inane - and I know for sure I have and do, and probably will continue to do so :P less

About 20 years ago a restaurant on the North end of the Island re least its bull frog breeding stock into the wild (about 10 pairs of bull frogs). Now there are 1000's of them and they have spread half way across the island and as they traveled they petty much wiped out all the other frog and toad species that were native to the island. It really throws the food chain off balance so it's a real problem. The Scottish broom was brought to the Island about 50 years ago and it's really spread and killed a lot of native plants along the way.. Cheers and happy weekend! less

Is that why they say laughter is like medicine? Because crying just makes you feel sick?

With the immigrant problems they have been having perhaps it is difficult to lead by example.
Our "Rite of Spring" is not a fertility dance, but cleaning the house thoroughly. Mine is done! YooWoo!!!! Now I'm going to the beach to enjoy the waves and sand.
The rodeo is in town! It makes me think about horses and celebrities that are entertaining. Tell us about you first experience riding a horse, or what an expert you are at riding.

Children's books certainly have lots of animal characters, but what about adult costumes? That is more difficult. There are lots of new books around. Give us the name of the book your character is from.

House Unamerican Activities Committee. It was a committee of the House of Representatives as the name indicates. In 1969 the name was changed to House Committee on Internal Security. Of course there was the infamous blacklisting of those with supposed Communist ties in the 50's. Russia was the big bad in those days. Having started off there to where we are today vis a vis Russia is amazing isn't it? How do you account for it? .
