It seems to me if you have a viable solution why wouldn't you try it first to see if it works? That's what I always did. Something wasn't working efficiently so I examined it and figured out what it might take to make it right and I'd just do it. THEN I'd tell my boss what I encountered and how I solved it in case others encountered it too.If you have viable solutions why wouldn't you act on them before you bother anyone?
