It turned out it was just an accidental explosion at a restaurant (nobody hurt) and the jet was just a privet one but it was a pretty scary couple of seconds. Cheers and happy weekend!

In order for me to continue to watch the movie I have to go back just before it happens and play until just after it starts to speed up then exit out of the movie (pausing and starting does no good) then start it up again where it plays normally.
