  • Pinocchio was a wooden puppet. As he was yearning to be a real life boy he lied bigly. His nose grew long. Hasn't PET's nose likewise grown?

Both Pinocchio and PET became what that they sought to be through the efforts/actions of others.  What was a fantasy fairy tale is now our reality. PET and Pinocchio are forever linked in time. Their stories are the same. Isn't it wonderful? That a human can aspire to achieve an impossible dream in real life just as a wooden dummy did in literature?

  • PET may well be our first PETRIFIED president. He turned to stone and there is nothing human left. How thoughtful is stone?

The Petrified National Forest has trees whose trunks have turned to stone through the action of mineral-laden water. It is located in Arizona. Any of you ever been there?

Human nature. Have you ever had an authority figure who was as realistic as that?~

If that isn't a glitch it isn't a very helpful, useful or thoughtful programming design. Folks are left hanging and so am I. What possible logical purpose is there for that?

Why it lets "likes" through and not your replies I have no idea. So I am able to click on the "like" alerts and get to the reply that way. I'm not asking you to like anything. Just that if you do then I do have a way back to your reply. If you don't then I don't. AARRGGHH ! Anyway have a jolly good problem-free Happy Sunday! :)

  • Once again all notifications have disappeared. I have one that I received 46 minutes ago. Those that were there yesterday are all gone. WHY?

So what's the deal? Is there a time limit and if you don't respond within a couple of days they vanish never to be retrieved? Is that a glitch or purposeful? Who else is experiencing this?

I had to cancel donations, and can't cancel my life insurance unless I want to start over. Also I had to go get more overdraft protection with my bank. This week has been horrible, and for the first time, it sunk in and I finally cried. My boss told me that letting me go is the "best decision for her business". Yet she made me stay for two more weeks with reduced hours anyway, and asked me to help train others. I have another job lined up already, but I don't start for a week. Because of this, I'm losing a week in pay on top of all the hours she cut. And I'm having hard times coping with it. I have never had to deal with the possibility of having bad credit in my life, until she took over our store. And I would like to prevent it with all the advice and help I can get from those who are older and wiser or who have been through something like this before. Thank you.  less

It bothered the heck out of me because 1) I don't think the purpose of life is to be a good little worker bee and 2) It wasn't really accurate. Employers are wanting unique skills that aren't covered with college degrees, such as particular certifications and soft skills like leadership, critical thinking, communication, etc. Is career preparedness/ more book learning something you'd focus on with your own children? Why or why not?   less
