I only pick very recognizable mushrooms that I know are edible such as the black moral, blue funnel and the inky cap and a few others I can't think of the name of them. You must be well educated in what is edible mushrooms and what isn't before picking edible mushrooms. I suggest learning one type at a time get familiar with it then learn another. I know 13 edible mushrooms. I could've learned more. Don't rely on just a picture of the mushroom as there are many look alikes less
