Sometimes it is simple shyness that causes aloof detached unreachable. I was very brave on one occasion and reached out to a mystery woman. It was a revelation. Once I broke through the surface the person turned out to be even shyer than I was and we became fairly good friends. She was the Executive Secretary for the owner of the company. Circumstances brought us together at a group function where she sat alone looking inscrutable and haughty. I went over to her, sat down and started chatting. No was more surprised than me by my boldness. You know what I found out? Her birthday was the same as my son's and my birthday was the same as her daughter's. That's all we needed.
