Adlai Stevenson didn't mind adding a little humour to his comments. Once when he was attacked by Protestant minister, Norman Vincent Peale, he said, "I find the apostle Paul appealing and the apostle Peale appalling."Lincoln didn't mind wordplay either and once wrote, "He said he was riding bass-ackwards on a jass-ack through a patton-crotch." (Work it out.)Some are quite rude and very funny but I can't post them here. Do YOU have some favourites? less

Overindulgence is labelled the second worst thing to do to kids because it doesn't prepare them for life. They grow up to expect special treatment like they're used to and can't cope when that doesn't happen. The absolute worst thing is abuse.
I got the opportunity to meet and shake hands with the mayor of my city. He was a very nice guy, even for a Democrat. ;) What interesting thing happened for you today?

Im gonna buy the pro version in the next few months when its released. i like the idea of having the tablet/android experience but with a full fledged browser rather than an android version that android devices have. can't wait to add a 3rd chromebook to my collection.

Because this term is uncommon and somewhat intimidating to people who don't know what epistemic means, Jack Pelham decided to re-brand epistemic rationality as Reality-Based Thinking, the idea being that people would get the general idea quickly, without the need for as much explanation. It employs a good-sense approach that works hard to get things right, so as to avoid the common pitfalls in thinking. Fortunately for us all, it’s not particularly complicated. Also, it’s not necessary to have a high IQ to be good at RBT.http://realitybasedthinking.org/what-is-reality-based-thinking-rbt/ less

How do you discipline someone if/when necessary with whom you might have a close relationship? Do you lose friends and gain subordinates? Seems really hard to me. Any of you ever experience that?
