Oftentimes when I have encountered this, asking the host for salt and/or pepper results in blank stares and confusion, requiring a brief explanation from me as to how or why they're used. Have you ever ever noticed any of this?If so, do you come from a culture where it's normal to see salt and pepper shakers on dining tables, or from a culture where it's not normal?~ less
