All they had was a bag of sugar-free  butterscotch hard candies with numbered food dyes among the ingredients. I never buy or eat anything with numbered food dyes in it. I will keep looking in other stores but what happened to butterscotch? I was on a similar quest for peach ice cream and found ZERO anywhere. Did peach and butterscotch elope or something?

Where we ended up and how matters not if we all came from the same place. Brick walls and petunias and homo sapiens the same stuff.  Could that be the answer to our search for meaning in life? There is none? It is all random chance and happenstance? How we evolved was simply due to mutations and defects and adapting to our environment in order to survive? Survival of the fittest right?  less

Now 93 billion light years in diameter is a pretty big size. 23 trillion light years in diameter is way bigger. What's the point of asking the question? What are we supposed to do with the answers? What does it matter? How does it affect us in any way? Curiosity of course is always the point of asking! Why else would you ask any question unless you were curious enough about something to seek answers? Incurious has never been my cuppa tea.  Are you incurious and happy not knowing or asking? Just accepting what you are told to believe? Why would anyone be satisfied with ignorance? That DOES NOT compute.  less

Happyness (sic) comes only in bursts and sexual love the same. As for accomplishment it keeps ahead of you and the more you accomplish the less it is enough. The only fulfilled people I know are those whose curiosity keeps them too busy to wonder whether they are happy, fulfilled, contented or not. Be sure that no matter what you do it will not be enough to you. As for direction there are millions of them and they are all the same one. And in human endeavor the range between great and small is very short. Yours, John Steinbeck"Why did I share that with you? Because I think it is far too beautiful to keep from you. One day I will be gone and those words deserve to be released and read and contemplated by others and not die with me. So here you are. My gift to you. I hope you find meaning in them. Those words have helped me. Perhaps they can help you too.  less

How do you know which is which in advance?  Don't you always have to wait until the aftermath/fallout to determine that?

And so in addition to communicating with others of our species wouldn't it be nice to communicate with all living animals? Dr. Doolittle "talked" to the animals. There is a dog whisperer on TV named Caesar. I think there was movie with Robert Robert in which he was a  horse whisperer. That way we'd know when an animal was in pain and where it hurt and maybe we could do something to help. Are you an animal-lover?  less
