Wh... moreI expect the Catholic Church (they frown bigly and look down upon divorce) would counsel the very same thing. "Hang in there. Accept the beatings. Maybe things will get better." What kind of world is it that does this to human beings? What kind of people can give such counsel and not be revolted and disgusted by themselves? What kind of people accept that and follow their advice and stay and keep getting beaten? I think many people are batsh** crazy. We just don't want to admit it. Every once in awhile the ugliness spills over into our consciousness and we are forced to see what lies beneath. And it is tragic. :( less

A close friend was a candidate for a job at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California and two men came to my work one day and interviewed me about her. The interview was quite lengthy. They wanted to know EVERYTHING I knew about her and I was honest and told them what a really great person she was as far as I knew. I don't know how many people they interviewed but she got the clearance and the job and she never could talk to me about the work she did.
They abused it and themselves and for some reason didn't value it. I'm thinking of the ones who died of drugs or alcohol or other self-imposed excesses .
