Being unmarried was the last thing any woman wanted to be so she married  whatever person was willing to marry her and then hung in no matter what. That was then.  Women have the vote now. Women can support themselves and their children so they don't need men to do that for them. You'd think by now women would be extremely supportive of a woman prez but it seems that isn't so. Even though they escaped the stereotype themselves of women being only good for sex, having and raising kids, and housekeeping they still buy into it by voting for a vermin man rather than any woman. Weird.  less

They have to have the volume turned up full-blast, and as if that's not bad enough, then they stand as far away from the phone as humanly possible so that they have to shout to be heard and to be understood. Anyone within the boundary of the entire county is subjected to both sides of the conversation, willingly or not.   One of these geniuses calls his wife and/or children several times a day and carries on personal conversations, making kissy sounds, talking baby talk, having arguments, administering parental discipline, planning family budgets, discussing dinner menus and reminiscing about past vacations. Who needs or wants to hear all of that?

I prepared the working papers each year in advance of the audit and she was assigned to me. Her name was Miki. Young enough to be my daughter. She was very  knowledgeable. VERY SMART. Seriously?  Old Age is not a guarantee of smarts or wisdom or intelligence. All it is a guarantee of is that the old fogeys are closer to death than the young people. Period. And to be rattled/angry about young people marching and speaking out says everything we need to know about them.  These kids LIVED THROUGH terror. Have they? No wonder we are in the mess we're in. The old fogeys refuse to listen to the young. The old fogeys think they know everything there is to know and that the young people have nothing to add to the conversation and should just shut up.
