You could smell the flowers as the floats went by. Then later after the parade was over the floats could be found at a nearby Park so you could see them up close and personal. I think it was called Victory Park but I'm not sure. Now we watch it on TV. Still beautiful of course but not nearly as exciting as BEING THERE.
