But sometimes they end up rolling off into personal accusations - some of which are so mistaken they're just plain incorrect.
Sometimes people play devil's advocate and present the question in such a way as to draw out the thinking of people they may disagree with - perhaps to better understand that thinking, or maybe just being slightly trolly, a little mischievous.
Sometimes we read things between the lines that are not there at all, assuming we know the questioner's mind when we don't.

Cons: Too much regulation makes them have to raise the price or some regulation stops other companies making generics or some regulation prevents doctors from choosing other alternatives. The companies just "can't help themselves" because the government makes them act bad and they would normally act better.
Libs: Government doesn't regulate the corporations enough and the corporations run rampant over the consumer putting profits before people. There's no true socialized health care and companies are making money off of sick people. Sick people need financial help to counteract the profiteering health care corporations.

That quote has been useful to me. It gives me a chance to STOP from putting my foot in my mouth.
