Here is mine most recent: Last January, a snowstorm shut down highways, trains, planes, buses in Portland, OR. The motel where I was staying became aggressive toward guests, at least one eviction.
After some thought, what I did was go to the main desk, and in a clear voice in front of guests and registrants I asked, “Why are you treating old people like this?”
I went on like that for a while, playing the age card, as I am 72. I pretended I was upset, and that the stress was affecting me…not true, I was acting, simply standing up for all of us.
Then I sat there, refusing to move (claiming I needed to rest) until finally someone came over with very courteous demeanor. Once motel staff became polite, I did also. less

Was it somehow more acceptable because the "attackers" were in uniform? Were they afraid? Did they simply accept it because of protocol?Would you have stood up against the security guards on this man's behalf? O_o
Does it matter that he's a doctor? Would the abuse he suffered be lesser if he was a fast food worker? Why is every media outlet discussing how prestigious his family is?

That is what drives people to constantly check their phones to see if there are any messages or likes or emojis. Imagine that? Just like cigarette manufacturers included ingredients to hook you so too do programmers go inside your head and hook you. Could you give all that up or would that cause you infinite distress?

Too late in the evening, too late in the week, too late in life? What do you mean, dude? Context, CONTEXT!6. No, but it's certainly too late for me to be answering it. 7. Does it matter whether or not it's too late?8. Shouldn't this have been a poll?9. Is it ok if I answer your question with a question of my own?10. What question?

The combined interaction of fauna and insects are all necessary for life to exist as ecosystems, but dare to imagine a world with only humans as its non-plant life forms . . .~

Cut a piece of salt pork or sowbelly into small dice and cook it slowly to extract the fat. Drain the mice, dredge them thoroughly in a mixture of flour, pepper, and salt, and fry slowly in the rendered fat for about 5 minutes. Add a cup of alcohol and 6 to 8 cloves, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Prepare a cream sauce, transfer the sautéed mice to it, and warm them in it for about 10 minutes before serving. less
