Of course, this time we're actually forming a really deep, lasting friendship. At least it feels more like a real friendship than any other woman I've known.Now I'm struggling with how to tell her. How to confess feelings that are probably obvious to anyone who knows us and sees how I interact with her (one of our mutual friends figured out I was smitten when the feelings were still just developing). And of course the eternal question of should I tell her? Take a chance she rejects me and things get weird, or maybe she feels the same and has just been waiting for me to say something. In Michigan, where Betsy is from, poor kids who went to charter schools did worse than in public schools. Why? The richer kids went to the best private schools, and the poor kids went to the worse private schools. People assume all private schools are excellent. They're not. Besides, there are not enough charter schools to take in all the students that go to public schools. Rural America doesn't have private schools! Furthermore, Betsey has no experience in teaching or working with any schools or school boards. Philanthropy doesn't qualify anyone to head any education program, much less THE Department of Education for the whole country. Maybe she's there because she is a billionaire. Many of our invi... moreWe had fun celebrating Thanksgiving using a French theme. We had the best food----French cuisine. I set out my Monet landscape and seascape prints for decorations. Many of our invited guests did not come, as things came up in their lives. Some had family emergencies. Nothing you can do about that. But the others that came were fun to be with. One fun thing was that people kept wanting to take those "freeze frame" photo shots they now call "mannequin challenge". Even the dog got in the shot!
