This couple was already planning to leave their jobs, invest their savings in this thing and become full-time evangelists for the company. It seemed like a Ponzi scheme to us, so we declined. A few years later, the company was featured on a news program as part of a nationwide scandal that had wiped out the savings of hundreds of people. The owners (not the couple who had known us) had skipped the country and Interpol warrants were out for their arrests. We certainly dodged that bullet!

Birthdays, anniversaries, special accomplishments or JUST BECAUSE.I remember my parents belonged to a group whose members would take turns hosting parties. At least once a month they'd all gather together including us kids at someone's house. In the summer we'd gather at the beach and often have breakfast and lunch there and it would be potluck.
